Writing My Life List

In the past year, I have put together a bucket list, if you will. I like to think of it more as a life list, because it will make me become more alive and more aware. I’ll post it up soon on a page, I promise.

One of the items on the list was to start a daily journal, but instead I’ve chosen a blog. I think it has easier access, I can blog from practically anywhere–I’m blogging from work right now.

Blogging can make my chaos a bit more organized. I always start a journal, just to quit because it wasn’t arranged the way I liked or pretty enough. Here it’s simple to add pictures, videos, links, virtually anything I like! Plus, I have so many different avenues that I’m exploring in my life at the moment, so naturally blogging would be a great way to share those adventures.

I’m actually not sure what I’m even going to be writing about on my daily accounts, but I figure creating the blog is a good starting point. I’ve been reading other’s blogs and their’s are just so inspiring but it makes me feel like I don’t have much to say–which I know is not true. I’m a loudmouth. I always say what’s on my mind, sometimes I’m too blunt.

I realize I may get sidetracked often, but that’s just a part of writing and honing in on my new skill. I have always loved to write, but never would actually make the time to sit down and put my thoughts on a piece of paper. Handwriting? Forget about it! My pen could never keep up with my thoughts! I would have about 10 thoughts in the time I wrote down one.

One reason writing has been on my mind is because of my bosses mother, Martha. A month ago, my boss came to me with the offer to type her mom’s memoirs since I’m a quick typer. I agreed, not only because it would be nice learning about the trials and tribulations of someone’s life, but hey, they were going to pay me for it! I thought it was like getting paid for reading someone’s life story–only to find out later, there is a lot more involved. I’ve had trouble reading much of her handwriting, I’ve had to find and insert random pages and I’ll be meeting with Martha and her editor once I’m through.

Reading about her memoirs has been very eye opening. She’s now in her seventies, but currently I’m writing about her thirties. That’s not even half of her life and she’s already done so much with it! Its amazing to see how much she can recall. She is writing her journey by looking back on everything, but I want to be able to track and relive every experience as it happens. Wish me luck!
