Project 365: Through Day 21

Day 13 – January 30th

Pupusas! If you haven’t tried these before you don’t know what you’re missing out on. This traditional Salvadorian dish is like a thick tortilla, stuffed with various yummy foods: beans, cheese, pork, or loroco. Or all of the above! Apparently loroco an edible flower native to El Salvador, I had no idea. It’s pretty dang good though! On top is a type of salsa with cabbage, not everyone is a fan of it, but I love it.

Day 14 – January 31st

It’s almost been a week since I’ve been in the house and I’m barely starting to put things up. This piece was a “housewarming” gift from my dad and stepmom when I moved to the apartment. It just fits so well on one of our bookshelves in the living room. A daily reminder: dream.

Day 15 – February 1st

It was one of those mornings at the office. I was dragging ass and had to have my daily cup of coffee.

Day 16 – February 2nd

My old co-worker brought in her baby Blake! Isn’t she just adorable! She poopied her little pants while she was in the office. Yeah, definitely not ready for one of those yet.

Day 17 – February 3rd

Dinner night! We celebrated our 6 month anniversary at Taste of Texas. The food was spectacular! Mr. Hazel Eyes enjoyed the pre-dinner snacks. While you wait, they have soft drinks, popcorn and chips and salsa. Once they seat you (after about 30-45 minutes) they bring you crackers with cream cheese. I’ve never tried quail so we had it as an appetizer. The waiter said it tastes like chicken, but I thought it was far better! Then you get the salad & bread bar while you wait for your steak. You can see my beautiful bacon wrapped center cut filet. YUM! Best date night ever!

Day 18 – February 4th

An interesting ice cream truck sitting in the parking lot at a local Sam’s Club. “Ice Cream Nationwide” it boasts. The other side listed cities of Los Angeles, CA, Houston, TX, Las Vegas, NV and Tampa, FL. That’s a long trip for some ice cream!

Day 19 – February 5th

Finally getting settled into the house. Here’s my odd shaped loveseat with new brown pillows. They were one of my favorite buys from shopping with mom. I’m thinking of going with a European theme for the living room. Hm.

Day 20 – February 6th

Our elevator was out! Look at the floor, definitely not even. Before they taped it off, it opened up like that on my way to lunch. I wasn’t getting on that thing!

Day 21 – February 7th

Margarita at lunch! I got my buzz on! I need to prepare myself for New Orleans this weekend! I was buzzed after one. I don’t think I’m ready!

A Week’s Worth of Project 365

Dont worry, I haven’t forgotten about the 365 Project–here goes a week of pictures!

Day 6 – January 23rd

My mom’s pup. Well, he still thinks he’s a pup. He was mine until I realized I couldn’t take care of him. Now she won’t give him up since he’s her little baby! What a cute face.

Day 7 – January 24th

Relatively boring day as you can tell; just another day at work. I love my cute little calendar that my boss gave me though. Ooh, and paperclips!

Day 8 – January 25th

My idea of packing: sitting on the couch, looking at the box. My junk was everywhere…

Day 9 – January 26th

My bosses at Happy Hour on Thursday. They’re married, can you tell? They are pretty awesome couple to work for, if I say so myself.

Day 10 – January 27th

Mr. Hazel Eyes and I moved into a house! This was the day before move-in. He was waiting for the utilities to be turned on.

Day 11 – January 28th

Our living quarters for the first night. A mattress and some pillows in the living room. It was kind of like a camp out, except with TV!

Day 12 – January 29th

My wonderful Mom already brought me a housewarming gift! Dr Pepper with REAL sugar. Who could ask for more?

It’s been a hectic week, but I managed to take a picture a day.. with a couple of the pictures being at the very end of the day.

Project 365: Day 3, Four and Cinco!

January 20, 2012 – Day 3

My new Fossil sunglasses that practically no one likes because they look very “John Lennon.”

Okay, so maybe a little. But whatever, I like them.

January 21, 2012 – Day 4

So this day, I actually have 2 pictures because I couldn’t decide which one to use.

My uncle has this rose bush he planted in front of his house and it kind of just went wild. I love how brightly colored it is and how you can see the rose petals on the ground.

Just an idea of  how many roses there were. Three are directly in the front and there’s three more in the background. Now that I think about it, I should have snapped a picture of the whole rose bush.

This was my cuddle buddy for Saturday night since Mr. Hazel Eyes was out of town. I went to my friend’s apartment, which luckily is right downstairs and had a movie night! This his pet Maltese, Scavullo. He loves to cuddle!

January 22, 2012 – Day 5

My sister and I signed up for a hair show this weekend (at the same time and didn’t even know). They colored, trimmed and styled our hair. I was the curly cue of the bunch.

This is my awesome sister, who is a readhead once again. She even had cute golden streaks, but you can’t see it very well in the picture.

360 days to go!

Project 365: Beginning Again

I’m not a professional photographer by any means, but I like to take pictures. More than that, I love to have pictures to look back upon moments in my life–the good and the bad alike.

One of the items on my life list, aka bucket list, is to take a picture every day for a year. Many people know this as Project 365.

Last year I tried to start the project privately but failed. So, I’m going to post the pictures to hold myself accountable.

My pictures won’t be anything spectacular, but it will be a way for me to remember how 2012 developed and how my life changes from day-to-day.

January 18, 2012 – Day 1

Everyday on my drive home from work I drive through one of the nicer neighborhoods of Houston–West University. Palm trees aren’t indigenous to Texas, but of course there are people who pay good money to have them in their yard, like this house.

January 19, 2012 – Day 2

Just a daily reminder to be yourself, even if that means coloring outside the lines. This was an event card lying around at work.
